Here we display a small thumbnail of every species featured on the site. The pages are organised by super family
and in some cases family. Each thumbnail includes a link to the main species page which contains a larger picture
and in most cases text incorporating a species description, local occurence and biological notes. Where available
there is also a link to the family description. The intention is an aid
to getting an unknown specimen to a possible family or genus, it is not intended to replace a family key but should be
useful combined with other literature.
Originally the thumbnails were placed on one page so the user could easily scroll through all the pictures, unfortunately
as we added more pictures this was becoming too slow to download, consequently we have organised the page(s) into superfamilies. Click on the
relevant caption to view more pictures for each superfamily.
Specimens pictured on the following pages have been identified by the WCG, that is to say that from whatever source
the specimens originated, unless otherwise stated, they have been verified by Mr. D.Hodges and/or Mr. D.Murray.
